TIP 1: FIT
If you want to look your best, you need to have clothes that fit you the best. This often means you have to tailor some things. Men’s clothing should hug the body without being too tight.
TIP 2: SIMPLICITY
The male wardrobe has been very simple for the longest time. It “aint broke, so don’t try to fix it”. Start with two or three of the following: button-down dress shirts, silk ties, blazers/jackets, accessories. Mix and match and add more as you go. Similarly, you aren’t 14 anymore (and you’re not a hip hop mogul) so tee shirts with large logos gotta go!
TIP 3: DETAIL
Not all jackets, sweaters, trousers, and shoes are cut the same. Some will be longer or heavier or more rugged. Make sure that your top and bottom pieces correspond. They don’t have to match exactly but they should be compatible.
TIP 4: SHOES
Everyone notices the quality of your shoes. It doesn’t matter how much you pay for them—treat them like they are the most expensive thing you have ever purchases. It will pay off.
TIP 5: EXPERIMENT
Ignore trends and brand names “just because.” Trends don’t last and brands are usually suited for one or two body types. Instead, find pieces that work with what you already have and suit your personality.
